Privacy Policy for BMIApp+
Effective date: 2026-05-10
Last updated: 2026-05-27
BMIApp+ is built and provided by Hakan Niflioglu as a commercial app. This Privacy Policy explains how BMIApp+ handles information when you use the app.
BMIApp+ is a personal body metrics tracking app. It helps you record and review your own body metrics, goals, reminders, trends, and reports. BMIApp+ does not provide medical diagnosis, medical advice, treatment recommendations, or guaranteed health or weight outcomes. For medical decisions or personal health questions, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.
This policy is written to be practical and specific: BMIApp+ processes the information needed to run the app, sync your own records if you enable iCloud, support Apple Health if you grant permission, manage subscriptions through Apple, improve reliability, and measure high-level app acquisition and usage performance. BMIApp+ does not sell your personal information.
1. Information BMIApp+ May Process
BMIApp+ may process the following categories of information, depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant.
Information you enter or create in the app:
- Height, weight, BMI results, target weight, and related history
- Step goals and progress settings
- Body measurements and body composition records
- Body fat percentage and lean body mass records
- Blood pressure logs where supported
- Timeline entries, notes, reminders, goals, and report settings
- Generated personal summaries, images, or PDF reports that you choose to create
- App preferences such as units, language, theme, display choices, and feature settings
Optional Apple Health information:
- If you choose to connect Apple Health and grant permission, BMIApp+ may read supported Apple Health data such as steps, walking/running distance, weight, height, body fat percentage, lean body mass, waist measurements, and blood pressure records where supported.
- If you grant write permission, BMIApp+ may write supported manual records to Apple Health.
- Apple Health access is optional. You can change or revoke Apple Health permissions at any time in iOS Settings or the Health app.
Subscription and purchase status:
- BMIApp+ uses Apple StoreKit for Pro subscription and restore purchase flows.
- Apple processes purchases and payments.
- BMIApp+ does not receive or store your payment card details.
- BMIApp+ may read purchase entitlement status from Apple to decide whether Pro or eligible Legacy access should be available.
Operational analytics and diagnostics:
- BMIApp+ may use Firebase Analytics to understand high-level, sanitized app usage, such as app screens, feature areas, navigation routes, lifecycle events, entitlement tier, upgrade surface state, app version, and similar product interaction information.
- BMIApp+ may use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and non-fatal diagnostic information, such as crash state, device model, operating system version, app version, timestamps, and related technical diagnostics.
- BMIApp+ is designed not to send free-form body metric values, health notes, Apple IDs, receipts, transaction IDs, private CloudKit record identifiers, payment details, or similar private content as custom Firebase analytics parameters.
Meta App Events and acquisition measurement:
- BMIApp+ uses the Meta SDK / Meta App Events for limited acquisition measurement and generic app interaction measurement.
- BMIApp+ uses Meta custom event names with the xpa_* namespace, such as xpa_app_first_open, xpa_app_settings_opened, and xpa_subscription_screen_viewed.
- BMIApp+ does not send health, body, weight, body-composition, blood pressure, report, export, Apple Health, notes, reminders, purchase, revenue, subscription-started, user identity, email, receipt, transaction ID, product ID, or payment details to Meta.
- BMIApp+ may request Apple App Tracking Transparency permission because the Meta SDK can use device identifiers for advertising measurement when permission is granted.
- If you grant App Tracking Transparency permission, Meta may receive or process device identifiers, including the Apple advertising identifier where available, for Meta ad performance and acquisition measurement. Apple may categorize this as data used to track you because a third-party advertising partner may combine device-level data with data from apps, websites, or services not owned by BMIApp+.
- If you do not grant App Tracking Transparency permission, BMIApp+ is designed not to use IDFA-based tracking. The app remains usable if you deny tracking permission.
Device and technical information:
- In connection with app functionality, analytics, diagnostics, App Store services, iCloud, Apple Health, StoreKit, Meta App Events, or system services, limited technical information may be processed, such as device model, operating system version, app version, app configuration, crash state, timestamps, and similar diagnostic information.
- Some third-party services may process IP address or similar technical identifiers as part of providing their services.
2. How BMIApp+ Uses Information
BMIApp+ uses information to:
- Provide BMI calculations and body metric tracking
- Save and display your personal records, trends, goals, reminders, and reports
- Support optional Apple Health import and write flows
- Sync app-owned records through iCloud where available and enabled
- Provide Pro subscription, restore purchase, and entitlement functionality
- Improve app reliability, performance, and crash recovery
- Understand high-level, sanitized app usage patterns
- Measure acquisition and generic app interaction performance
- Maintain security and prevent misuse
- Provide support when you contact the developer
BMIApp+ does not use your personal body metrics to provide medical diagnosis or treatment advice.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
BMIApp+ may store app-owned data locally on your device.
If iCloud is available and enabled for the app, BMIApp+ may sync app-owned records through Apple iCloud/CloudKit so your BMIApp+ records can be available across your devices. iCloud sync depends on your Apple ID, iCloud settings, network conditions, and Apple's services. BMIApp+ does not guarantee instant or real-time synchronization.
Apple Health data remains controlled by Apple Health permissions. BMIApp+ may read or write supported Apple Health data only if you grant permission.
Generated reports or exported images/PDFs are created from your saved records. If you share or export a report, you control where that exported file goes.
4. Apple Health
Apple Health integration is optional.
If you allow Apple Health access, BMIApp+ may use supported Health data to help you view steps, distance, weight, height, body composition, blood pressure, and related personal tracking context.
You can control Apple Health permissions at any time through iOS Settings or the Apple Health app.
BMIApp+ does not delete raw Apple Health source data when you delete BMIApp+ app-owned records. Deleting BMIApp+ data affects records stored by BMIApp+, not necessarily records stored separately by Apple Health or other apps.
5. iCloud Sync
BMIApp+ may use iCloud/CloudKit to sync app-owned records across your devices. This may include records such as weight entries, body measurements, body composition, blood pressure logs, notes, reminders, app preferences, and other BMIApp+ records.
iCloud data is handled through Apple's iCloud services and your Apple ID. You can manage iCloud access through iOS Settings.
6. Subscriptions and Purchases
BMIApp+ may offer Pro subscription access through Apple StoreKit.
Purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment methods are handled by Apple. BMIApp+ does not collect or store your payment card information.
BMIApp+ may check your App Store purchase status to unlock Pro features, restore purchases, or protect eligible Legacy access for users who owned the app before the Pro/subscription release.
Purchase and revenue information is not sent to Meta by BMIApp+.
7. Reports and Sharing
BMIApp+ may let you generate reports, images, or PDF summaries from your saved data.
Reports are personal summaries for your own review or for conversations with a doctor, dietitian, coach, or care professional. They are not clinical documents and do not replace professional medical advice.
If you choose to share a report outside the app, that sharing is controlled by you and by the destination app or service you choose.
Report and export data is not sent to Meta by BMIApp+.
8. Third-Party Service Providers
BMIApp+ may use third-party services that process information to provide app functionality, analytics, diagnostics, infrastructure, platform services, purchase functionality, sync functionality, health permissions, or acquisition measurement.
These may include:
- Apple services, such as App Store, StoreKit, Apple Health, iCloud, and CloudKit
- Google Firebase services, such as Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics
- Meta services, such as Meta SDK / Meta App Events for acquisition and advertising measurement
These service providers may process information according to their own privacy practices and service terms.
BMIApp+ does not sell your personal information.
9. Advertising, Acquisition Measurement, and Tracking
BMIApp+ does not show third-party ads inside the app.
BMIApp+ may use Meta App Events to measure acquisition and generic app interaction performance. This may include device identifiers for advertising measurement when you grant Apple App Tracking Transparency permission.
BMIApp+ does not send health/body/weight/body-composition/blood-pressure/report/export/Apple Health data, purchase/revenue/subscription-started data, notes, reminders, or user identity data to Meta.
BMIApp+ does not use AppsFlyer, Adjust, AdMob, Google Ads SDK, or similar advertising attribution SDKs in this release. Firebase is used for operational analytics and crash diagnostics, not for advertising tracking.
You can allow or deny tracking permission when iOS asks, and you can change this later in iOS Settings. The app remains usable if you deny tracking permission.
10. Cookies
BMIApp+ itself does not use browser cookies inside the app for tracking.
However, third-party services, websites linked from the app, or platform services may use cookies or similar technologies according to their own privacy policies. If you open an external website from the app, that website's privacy policy applies.
11. Data Retention
BMIApp+ keeps app-owned records for as long as they remain stored in the app, on your device, or in your iCloud account.
You may delete app-owned data using available in-app deletion tools or by deleting the app, depending on the type of data and your iCloud settings.
Some diagnostic, analytics, crash, purchase, platform, or Meta App Events records may be retained by Apple, Google Firebase, Meta, or other service providers according to their own retention policies.
12. Data Deletion and Control
You can control your information in several ways:
- Delete or edit app-owned records where the app provides editing or deletion controls
- Remove the app from your device
- Manage iCloud access through iOS Settings
- Manage Apple Health permissions through iOS Settings or the Health app
- Manage App Tracking Transparency permission through iOS Settings
- Manage subscriptions through your Apple ID / App Store subscription settings
- Contact the developer for privacy-related questions or deletion requests using the public BMIApp+ support contact listed on the App Store or the contact channel published with this policy
Deleting BMIApp+ app-owned data does not necessarily delete data stored separately by Apple Health, Apple, Google Firebase, Meta, or other third-party services.
13. Security
BMIApp+ is designed to use platform-provided protections where available, such as iOS app sandboxing, Apple Health permissions, Apple StoreKit, and iCloud/CloudKit services.
However, no method of electronic storage, transmission, cloud service, or internet communication is 100% secure. I cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Children's Privacy
BMIApp+ is not intended to knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information through BMIApp+, please contact me so I can review and take appropriate action.
Users must be old enough to consent to data processing in their country or must have consent from a parent or legal guardian where required.
15. International Processing
The services used by BMIApp+, including Apple, Google Firebase, and Meta services, may process information on servers located in different countries or regions. By using BMIApp+, you understand that information may be processed where these service providers operate, subject to their privacy and security practices.
16. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights related to your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.
You can manage many types of app-owned information directly in the app or through iOS settings. You can contact the developer for privacy-related requests using the contact information described below.
17. Links to Other Sites
BMIApp+ may contain links to external websites or services. If you open a third-party link, you will be directed to that third-party site or service.
I do not control external websites or services and am not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or practices. Please review the privacy policies of any third-party websites or services you use.
18. Medical Disclaimer
BMIApp+ is for personal tracking and informational context only.
BMI, weight, body measurements, body composition, blood pressure logs, reports, and other app data do not diagnose health conditions and do not replace professional medical advice.
Always consult a doctor or qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions, diagnosis, treatment, medication, diet, exercise, or health concerns.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this page periodically for changes.
